Depart the ship and travel the world
famous ‘TT’ course to Tynwald Hill. Located
in the little village of St John’s, this grass-topped,
tiered hill is made from the soil and stones from the
seventeen historic parishes of the island and is the
very symbol of Mann’s independence. The island
is very proud of being the world’s oldest legislature,
which has acted for over two thousand years. From this
hill every fifth of July, Tynwald Day, the laws instated
in the year are read out in English and Manx language.
Afterwards continue to the west coast of the island
and to the city of Peel, affectionately known as the
‘Sunset City’. View the mighty sandstone
castle from the promenade during a short photo-stop.
Then continue along the coast and inland over ‘Snow
Mountain’ before descending back into Douglas
and the harbour.
