You will be met by your guide at the
quayside and transferred by coach to Icart Point, a
spectacular viewpoint overlooking the south coast cliffs,
Petit Botbay and the smaller coves of Le Jaonnet Bay
and Labette. The walk will follow the high cliffs around
the point and down into Saints Bay valley, with views
of the Peastacks and Petit port and the small local
fishing harbour at Saints Bay.
Enjoy views of Moulin Huet from where, in the summer
of 1885 the painter Auguste Renior spent many hours
painting and enjoying the spectacular scenery. Your
walk continues past one of the 15 granite coastal defence
loop hole towers built in Napoleonic times to defend
the islanders from the French.
A long gradual climb, (some steps and uneven terrain)
takes you up from the valley continuing around the cliff
path to the Hotel Bon Port which is perched on the cliff
top affording great views while you enjoy a delicious
Guernsey cream tea before finally returning to the harbour
and your ship.
