Depart the port of Hull today and head
to Yorkshire’s principal city of York. First take
a panoramic tour of this lovely city during which your
guide will point out the main sights. York was an important
Roman city and parts of the original city walls remain
as well as many sights of archaeological importance.
Continue your tour on to the celebrated York Minster.
Northern Europe’s largest Cathedral, it contains
some of the finest 14th Century stained glass in existence.
We have arranged for official Minster guides to show
you this beautiful building today that will include
entrance into the Chapter House. Climb the tower for
splendid views and visit the Undercroft to see Roman,
Viking and Saxon finds (both at additional cost to each
individual).
After the official tour (lasting around an hour) enjoy
free time at your leisure – either in the Minster
of in York City itself. Please note; there is a lovely
café in the Minster serving a wide range of refreshments
(not included in the tour) and a good Gift shop.
