St Andrews is famed the world over
as the golf capital and the game has been played here
on the famous Old Course since the 15th century. There
is, however, much more to the town than just golf. St
Andrews Cathedral (now stunning ruins) was one of Scotland’s
largest Cathedrals and the castle dates from 1200. The
city is also home to the country’s oldest university
(it’s most famous student today is Prince William
who is studying History of Art). Lovely architecture
and a friendly atmosphere make St Andrews a special
place to visit, packed with history, academia and, of
course, golf!
Today’s tour will take you from Dundee across
the Firth of Tay and through the Kingdom of Fife to
St Andrews. On arrival there will be a short walking
tour followed by free time in order to shop and explore
this delightful city.
