Anstruther/Dundee - Glamis Castle

Begin your excursion today with a brief panoramic tour of the city of Dundee. See Dundee's main public square featuring fountains and dominated by the Caird Hall, a 2400-seat concert and conference hall. Also see City Chambers and Camperdown House, the splendid neo-classical house designed by William Burn. View the RRS (Royal Research Ship) Discovery, the vessel used by Captain Robert Scott on his polar explorations.

Following your overview of Dundee leave the city behind you as you travel through the scenic countryside of Angus with it’s breath-taking spectacular Highland Glens, to arrive at Glamis Castle.

With its fairytale turrets and secret rooms, Glamis Castle is perhaps one of the world's most famous romantic castles. Glamis is the birthplace of the late Princess Margaret and the childhood home of her mother Elizabeth, the late Queen Mother. The property of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne since 1372, the castle was largley reconstructed in the late 17th century. One of the most famous rooms in the castle is Duncan’s Hall, the legendary setting for Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Enjoy a guided tour of the Castle before enjoying some free time to explore the gardens at your leisure or perhaps enjoy a bit of shopping before returning to Dundee.
