| Robert Burns was born in a small cottage
in Alloway on 25 January 1759. By the time of his death,
aged 37, on 21 July 1796, he had become Scotland's best-loved
poet and, perhaps more importantly, the symbol of the
regeneration of a nation.
Now fully restored to its original state,
Burns Cottage forms the heart of Burns National Heritage
Park - a unique encounter with Scotland's most exceptional
man. Set among the delightful scenery of historic Alloway,
just 2 miles from the port of Ayr, Burns National Heritage
Park is an unmatched opportunity to experience Scotland's
National Poet.
