Edinburgh has always played an important
role in the lives of the Scottish and British Royal families.
Your tour today begins with a panorama of the city. See
the main sites of Edinburgh including Princes Street and
see the famous Royal Mile with Edinburgh Castle at the
top, and the 16th Century Palace of Holyrood at the other
end.
Then proceed to Leith, now home to the Royal Yacht
Britannia. Launched in 1953 this fine ‘Floating
Palace’ was home to the Royal family whenever
they traveled long distances overseas. She was a regular
fixture during the famous Cowes Week and every summer
she gently cruised the Western Isles of scotland, giving
her passengers privacy and the ultimate peace and quiet.
Tour Britannia at your leisure and see the gracious
Royal apartments. Visit too the Officers and Yachtsmen’s
quarters and the gleaming engine spaces. Afterwards
enjoy some time to browse the Britannia shop. |
