| Capital of Scotland and home to the new
Scottish Parliament, this cosmopolitan city is readily
reached via the ports of Rosyth (North of the Firth of
Forth, around 45 minutes drive to the city), Leith (just
2 miles North East of the city centre) and South Queensferry
(North of the City under the impressive Forth Bridge –
a half hour journey into the city centre). Edinburgh is
a veritable cornucopia of delights for the visitor. If
it’s your first visit to this fantastic city, you
may want to visit
Edinburgh Castle which is very much the symbol
of the city, or the Royal Palace
of Holyrood; the Queen’s official residence
in Scotland. If you have been to the city before, perhaps
visit the newly completed and controversial Scottish Parliament.
The beautiful Royal
Yacht Britannia is also now at home in
the port of Leith since being decommissioned in 1997.
She has won many awards as a top visitor attraction
and is a memorable visit.
A little further afield there are options to tour as
far as Glasgow, or Stirling
Castle in the Trossachs, as well as North
to Perth and Scone
Palace.
