The Highlands of Scotland offer some
of the World’s most breathtaking scenary. This
panoramic tour combines the natural beauty of the Grampian
Mountains with the extraordinary history of this rugged
and unforgiving landscape.
Following a circular route, first head for Tarbet at
the head of Loch Lomond. Pause here for photographs
of the strikingingly beautiful Loch before heading North
to the renowned highland junction of Crianlarich. Your
guide will bring the history of the area back to life
as you continue North West to Tyndrum, site of the defeat
of Robert the Bruce in 1306.
Soon arrive at a viewpoint for the 15th century Kilchurn
Castle, now an impressive shell on a fabulous Loch-side
setting, originally built by Sir Colin Campbell of Glenorchy,
the founder of the powerful Breadalbane Campbells.
Continue your journey to the south and back to Inveraray
where there will still be time for a little local shopping
if you so wish.
