Iona & Staffa

The tiny islands of Iona and Staffa lie to the West of the island of Mull in the Inner Hebrides. Both are accessed only by tender. Iona is a Christian community settled around the lovely remote Iona Abbey that dates back to the 6th Century. The village here is a quaint little place to gently explore. Staffa is a delight for natural historians, in particular Fingal’s Cave – ideal for the more intrepid! The parent island of Mull can be reached by tender or ferry from Iona.

Some other tour options include:

	Duart Castle
	Reached by ferry over to the mainland and then coach – this is a splendid example of coastal defence. Perhaps most easily recognised from the set of the Hollywood film ‘Entrapment’.
	Torosay Castle
	Again, on the Isle of Mull; a charming family-owned Castle with particularly lovely gardens.
	Tobermory
	A full day tour that can take in either Duart or Torosay castles before continuing up the East coast of Mull to it’s main town , Tobermory; a busy and colourful fishing port.
