The great natural harbour of Scapa
Flow is known by name to many. It was the epicentre
of dramatic events which changed the course of history
during the first and second world wars. This tour follows
the coast of Scapa Flow along to Houton ferry terminal,
Britain’s first seaplane base in the first world
water and later a major campsite. The ferry crossing
sails where the German Fleet lay intervened during the
first war and where 7 great battleships still lie on
Scapa Flow’s seabed. Landing on Hoy we stroll
to the Scapa Flow Visitor Centre where a spectacular
display of Scapa Flow awaits.
