The islands of Lewis and Harris
in the Outer Hebrides are normally approached via the
port of Stornoway on the North Island – Lewis, although
ships do occasionally call into Tarbet on Harris (the
South Island). Tours feature remote island life through
history and the crofting traditions at Arnol Blackhouse
on the Life
& Times of Lewis tour, as well as the
captivating Callanish standing stones of prehistoric times.
A longer tour can also be taken down to the beautiful
South island of Harris either returning to Stornoway,
or re-joining the re-located ship at Tarbet. The scenery
of these islands is simply outstanding with breathtakingly
beautiful remote beaches and rugged mountains in the south
on Harris.

A tour that incorporates both
the Callanish Standing Stones and Duncarloway
Broch: reportedly the best preserved Pictish broch
(defence tower dating back to the first 4 centuries
of the millenium) in the Hebrides.
